What is up with modern day series?
When the new season started this summer I really noticed a new trend in TV.
Instead of coming up with a clever name, these days it seems just easier to name your show after the main character in it. And generally, the main character doesn't even relate to the story line what so ever.
Examples are: Betty, Earl, Chuck, Veronica, Robin, Samantha, Chris, Dexter, Joey, Brian
Then there is also this line of series that use last names of the characters, generally these are a bit more related to the content:
Svensson, Grey, House, Traveler.
Good serie names are:
Psych, Shark, Lost, 30s Rock, How I Met Your Mother and such.
These kind of names relate to the story line, but still are not too self explenatory and fit the style of the shows.
Branding TV, just got a whole lot more boring! P.s. don't even get me started on extremely self explenatory names like: Prison Break. C'mon, is that all you smart guys came up with?
